The humane league works to reduce as much animal suffering as possible. Towards this end the organization promotes the compassionate treatment of animals through public outreach, education, and promotion of policy changes that benefit animals

If the board or committee determines that a conflict does exist, the board or committee decides how to handle the conflict, taking care to ensure that any resolution is consistent with the best interests of the organization. The person with the conflict is prohibited from participating in deliberations or voting with respect to the conflict.

The board uses comparability data gathered by an outside compensation expert, and contemporaneous documentation for the meetings, deliberations, and decisions. THEIR CAGE-FREE COMMITMENT IN ASIA WILL SPARE AN ESTIMATED 700,000 HENS FROM CAGES YEARLY.
