Activity 2

Teachers learning in networked communities (tlinc) - nctaf is working with nine university partners across the country to make educator development more collaborative and to give new teachers a stronger start in the profession. Through the tlinc program, nctaf encourages collaboration in teacher preparation by bringing student teachers, mentor teachers, and university faculty together in a meaningful way; improves connections between teacher preparation programs and the districts they serve by analyzing problems of practice in online or face-to-face collaboration; and creates feedback loops that connect graduates with their teacher preparation programs.

Activity 3

Research and analysis - nctaf conducts research on policies and practices regarding teaching quality and teacher development. Nctaf's research has informed the growth of professional teaching standards, the strengthening of the teaching career from induction to mastery, and the national discussions about methods to encourage and develop teacher knowledge and skills. Nctaf is also committed to rigorous evaluation and collects qualitative and quantitative data about our impact on teacher practice, school change, and student achievement. Nctaf disseminates it research and findings in order to strengthen teaching and learning.
