Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The draft 990 is received from the accountants and reviewed by management and accounting personnel. The 990 is then provided to the finance and audit committee of the board for review and finally to the full board before it is submitted to the irs.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Each year, board members and staff complete a conflict of interest questionnaire. The questionnaire asks individuals to disclose relationships, transactions, and any other applicable information that may indicate a potential conflict of interest. The documents are completed and retained in ctq files.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

The president annually submits a performance report to the board. The executive committee reviews the report, takes into consideration the budget and comparable salaries, and makes a compensation decision. The executive director reports to the president. Other top management report to the president and executive director annually.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

Ctq's governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are available to the public upon request.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0PERSONALIZE PROFESSIONAL LEARNING: K-12 PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEMS SPEND $18 BILLION ANNUALLY ON PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. BUT ONLY 29% OF TEACHERS REPORT HIGH LEVELS OF SATISFACTION WITH THOSE OFFERINGS. THAT ISN'T DELIVERING PROGRESS FOR TEACHERS OR STUDENTS.CTQ'S APPROACH PROVIDES A SIMPLE, LEARNER-CENTERED SYSTEM FOR EDUCATORS TO ALIGN THEIR UNIQUE PROFESSIONAL LEARNING NEEDS WITH THOSE OF THEIR SCHOOLS, DISTRICTS, AND STATES. EDUCATOR MICRO-CREDENTIALS, WHICH PROVIDE EDUCATORS WITH COMPETENCY-BASED RECOGNITION OF MASTERED SKILLS, DEMONSTRATE HOW PROFESSIONAL LEARNING IMPACTS STUDENT LEARNING.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0SUPPORT EDUCATOR STORYTELLING: INFORMATION IS A POWERFUL TOOL. AND IN TODAY'S DIGITAL WORLD SHARING INFORMATION IS EASIER THAN EVER. CTQ'S STAFF AND SUPPORTED PRACTITIONERS HAVE WRITTEN AND PUBLISHED MORE THAN 4,100 ARTICLES, REPORTS, OP-EDS, AND BLOGS. WE ARE COMMITTED TO THE POWER OF SHARING IDEAS THAT CAN LEAD TO BETTER SCHOOLS. WHEN EDUCATORS SHARE STORIES OF THE IMPACT THEY HAVE ON STUDENTS AND CLASSROOMS, THEY PAVE THE WAY FOR OTHER EDUCATORS TO ADOPT NEW AND EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES OF TEACHING.AT CTQ, WE WORK TO HELP EDUCATORS SHARE THEIR STORIES, INSIGHTS, AND RESULTS SO THEY CAN BE SCALED TO REACH MORE STUDENTS. USING FIELD-TESTED AND CLASSROOM-IMPROVED STORYTELLING TOOLS, CTQ WORKS ALONGSIDE EDUCATORS TO HELP THEM SHARE THEIR EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCES THROUGH STORIES. AND WE HELP EDUCATORS DESIGN COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES FOR THEIR NARRATIVES, WHICH CAN INFORM AND INSPIRE COLLEAGUES, STUDENTS, SCHOOLS, AND COMMUNITIES AROUND THE GLOBE.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc0REDESIGN EDUCATION SYSTEMS: EDUCATION ISN'T WHAT IT USED TO BE, FROM SCHOOL MODELS AND SYSTEMS TO EDUCATOR ROLES. AND AT CTQ, WE RECOGNIZE THE NEED TO BE NIMBLE AND PROACTIVE. WE HAVE A LONG HISTORY OF CONDUCTING RESEARCH TO ADVANCE TEACHING AS A PROFESSION AND CULTIVATE TEACHERS AS LEADERS. WE HAVE WORKED WITH DISTRICTS AND STATES TO SUPPORT TEACHERS IN HYBRID ROLES - TEACHERPRENEURS - WHO STAY IN THE CLASSROOM BUT ALSO HAVE THE TIME AND SPACE TO HELP LEAD EDUCATIONAL INNOVATIONS.WE ALSO COLLABORATE WITH SCHOOL SYSTEMS TO CREATE NEW CAREER PATHWAYS SO TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS CAN HELP SOLVE SCHOOL-WIDE PROBLEMS. WE CHAMPION APPROACHES THAT ENCOURAGE TEACHERS TO LEAD WITHOUT LEAVING THE CLASSROOM, WHILE ALLOWING PRINCIPALS TO MAKE CLASSROOMS MORE EFFECTIVE, DEVELOPING AND RETAINING EXCEPTIONAL TEACHERS TO BETTER SERVE STUDENTS.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc1A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH TO PROFESSIONAL LEARNING IMPROVES TEACHING PRACTICE AND STUDENT EDUCATION. BUT IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO JUSTIFY CUTTING INTO INSTRUCTIONAL TIME TO MAKE IT HAPPEN, AND SOMETIMES LEARNING FOR PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS AND STUDENTS ALIKE MUST TAKE PLACE REMOTELY. AT CTQ WE'VE LEARNED THAT EFFECTIVE VIRTUAL OR BLENDED LEARNING DEPENDS ON HAVING LEARNING COMMUNITIES THAT ENGAGE EVERY LEARNER, BUILD TRUST, CONSIDER INCLUSION AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL NEEDS ALONGSIDE CONTENT, GROUND COLLABORATIONS IN STRONG COMMUNITIES, AND GET RESULTS BY REFLECTING AND ACTING ON EVIDENCE. OUR APPROACH TO SUPPORTING THESE COMMUNITIES IS TO HELP EDUCATORS DEVELOP THE SKILLS THEY NEED TO LEAD THEIR OWN AND THEIR COLLEAGUES' LEARNING. WE ALSO WORK WITH DISTRICTS, STATES, AND NETWORKS TO GROW AND LEVERAGE THIS EXPERTISE AMONG THEIR STAFFS. WITH A 15-YEAR TRACK RECORD, CTQ CAN BE A KEY PARTNER IN HELPING TEAMS BUILD AND GROW VIRTUAL PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITIES.
