IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT. OUR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT TEAM WORKS WITH SCHOOLS, DISTRICTS, AND STATE EDUCATION AGENCIES NATIONWIDE UTILIZING A WIDE RANGE OF IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES INCLUDING ASSESSING READINESS AND CAPACITY TO ENGAGE IN IMPROVEMENT WORK, SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF ACTIONABLE IMPROVEMENT PLANS, ENSURING HIGH-QUALITY PLAN IMPLEMENTATION, AND SUPPORTING SPECIFIC IMPROVEMENT WORK. IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2017-2018, MASS INSIGHT DELIVERED SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM RESULTS IN FOUR STATES. OVER THE FIRST FOUR YEARS OF OUR ONGOING PARTNERSHIP WITH ONE STATE SCHOOL DISTRICT, THE DISTRICT ROSE ONE FULL POINT ON THE STATE'S FOUR-POINT ACCOUNTABILITY SCALE-THE LARGEST GAIN OF ANY URBAN DISTRICT IN THAT STATE. IN ANOTHER STATE WITH WHICH MASS INSIGHT HAS PARTNERED SINCE 2015, PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS THROUGH THE 2017 - 2018 ACADEMIC YEAR INCLUDE DECREASES IN STUDENT BEHAVIORAL REFERRALS BY AS MUCH AS 39% AND IN OUT-OF-SCHOOL SUSPENSIONS BY AS MUCH AS 49%. ALL SCHOOLS IN THE DISTRICT, SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED ATTENDANCE RATES, WITH MOST SCHOOLS ACHIEVING ATTENDANCE RATES OVER 92%. BOTH HIGH SCHOOLS IN THE DISTRICT SUCCESSFULLY DECREASED DROP-OUT RATES, WITH ONE HIGH SCHOOL REDUCING THE RATE BY HALF. BOTH HIGH SCHOOLS ALSO INCREASED GRADUATION RATES BY MULTIPLE PERCENTAGE POINTS. ONE HIGH SCHOOL, WHICH WAS THE LOWEST PERFORMING HIGH SCHOOL IN THE STATE AT THE START OF OUR PARTNERSHIP AND IN ITS FINAL YEAR ON THE STATE ACCOUNTABILITY CLOCK, IMPROVED BY A FULL LEVEL IN THE ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM AND AVOIDED STATE TAKEOVER.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0GATEWAY TO COLLEGE SUCCESS NETWORK. MASS INSIGHT IS HELPING NETWORK MEMBER SCHOOLS IN GATEWAY CITIES (MID-SIZED URBAN DISTRICTS IN MASSACHUSETTS) CREATE SUSTAINABLE IMPROVEMENTS USING IMPROVEMENT SCIENCE TOOLS AND NETWORKED LEARNING PRINCIPLES TO DRAMATICALLY IMPROVE THE RIGOR AND ALIGNMENT OF INSTRUCTION IN GRADES 6 THROUGH 12, ENSURING THAT STUDENTS SUCCESSFULLY MANAGE KEY TRANSITION POINTS AND ARE PREPARED FOR POST-SECONDARY SUCCESS. THE NETWORK'S ONGOING WORK SERVES TEAMS FROM 11 SCHOOLS IN 4 GATEWAY CITIES FOCUSING ON STUDENT GROWTH AND ACHIEVEMENT IN MATH. WHILE STILL EARLY IN THE WORK, PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS THROUGH THE 2017 - 2018 ACADEMIC YEAR INCLUDE SIGNIFICANT GAINS ON THE STATE ASSESSMENT (MCAS) BY ONE LARGE HIGH SCHOOL AND GROWTH IN STUDENTS' SCORES ON OPEN RESPONSE MCAS PROBLEMS BY MIDDLE SCHOOLS.
