“The association, with 800 members, has two levels of membership- full and associate. The associate category includes discounted membership for non-profit or government employees, students, job-seekers, and emeritus members. All member benefits include continuing education and training courses, monthly membership meetings, access to technical and other information on the members-only portion of the lspa website, opportunities to provide input to policy and legislation, professional development, and networking.”

“All lspa members are eligible to vote to elect candidates to the lspa board.”

“The treasurer and executive director review the form 990 and inform all 9 members of the lspa board that they have done so, and that the form is available for their review. The treasurer (or president) then signs the form. A copy of the filed form 990 is kept by the executive director and is posted on the members-only section of the lspa website.”

“Each year each lspa board member is asked to read and sign the lspa's conflict of interest policy. The executive director ensures that all 9 board members sign the form, and signed copies are saved on the lspa shared drives. Annually at a board meeting, the conflict of interest policy is summarized and discussed so all board members understand its intent.”
