Promote the understanding of printmaking

The mission of the boston printmakers inc. Is to promote the understanding and appreciation of contemporaty printmaking through public exhibitions across the united states and to promote education outreach through seminars, demonstrations, and traveling exhibitions. The organization is committed to young talent as well as established artists and encourages their participation in the arts through special programs and the sponsorship of student exhibitions. Every two years, in conjunction with its north american print biennial, the organization sponsors a concurrent exhibition of work from new england colleges: the arches student exhibition. The group's major activity in its biennial exhibition is a national open juried exhibition that gives new england art audiences an ongoing opportunity to view a wide representation of the latest contemporary prints, both experimental and traditional.
