Activity 2

Camps: see schedule o.camps: the west suburban ymca has four camps that provide a lasting experience of personal enrichment. These camps, located in wayland, ma, and east brookfield, ma, along with camp polliwog, a summer day camp for toddlers, and camp pikati, summer sports camp, both in newton, ma, offer educational, adventure, and learning activities that provide challenge and promote mental development, physical well being, social growth, and self respect. Camping helps youths become aware of their physical and mental capabilities, recognize the value of cooperation, and gain confidence. Financial assistance is offered for these programs so that a youth's economic circumstances are not a barrier to participation.

Activity 3

Child care: see schedule o.the central focus of all west suburban ymca early childhood education and child care programs is to foster growth and development in children, parents, and families. As with all ymca programs, child care offerings are designed to help young people develop positive values, self-esteem, and leadership. Parents play an important role in policy and program decisions. Ymca child care programs relieve the burden of balancing work and family and make it possible for parents of children in our care to remain gainfully employed, knowing that their children are thriving in a safe, developmentally sound environment. Ymca youth and teen programming provides kids with positive role models to help them develop self-esteem and strong values, including cooperation, respect, good citizenship, and a strong work ethic. These programs also build skills in leadership, volunteerism, and community services. The ymca provides youth and teens with a safe, supervised, caring environment.
