Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Fields to families was founded in 2006 in charleston, south carolina. Our organization works to empower those in the lowcountry area of south carolina who are food insecure by providing fresh produce options from local farms and gardens. Volunteers glean at local farms or collect donations from farmers markets and gardens, helping to reduce unncessary food waste in our area. Fields to families organizes the distribution of this fresh produce to agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and churches working to feed the hungry at no charge. Fields to families also maintains and distrbutes produce from their own garden located in moncks corner, sc. In addition our organization reaches out to the community to educate them on the benefits of healthy eating and how to incorporate fruits and vegetables into their diets regularly.

Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12C

The fields to families conflict of interest policy requires all board members and key employees to disclose the conflict or potential conflict when it occurs, in addition, an annual questionnaire is provided to the board and key employees confirming they are currently not aware of a conflict or potential conflict. The questionnaire must be signed. Minutes will reflect when a conflict of interest is presented to the board and the results of the vote. The policy prohibits interested board members from voting on any matter in which there is a conflict.
