Privacy Activism

Privacy Activism seeks to educate the public about privacy rights and to enable people to make well-informed decisions about privacy on a personal and societal level. We endeavor to reach a broad audience by explaining complex privacy issues visually, rather than exclusively verbally, as much as possible, in order to show the importance of privacy as a fundamental human right.

Privacyactivism.orgs mission is to enable people to make well-informed decisions both on a personal and societal level about the importance of privacy.We believe that much of the discussion at the societal level has focused only on short-term issues, and ignored key long-term issues: most importantly, that once privacy is lost in an area, it is usually lost forever. Thus, a key goal of ours is to inform the public about the importance of privacy rights and the short- and long-term consequences of losing them either inadvertently, or by explicitly trading them away for perceived or ill-understood notions of security and convenience. By illustrating these issues verbally and graphically, through a mixture of education and activism, we hope to show the importance of privacy as a fundamental human right, not a commodity to be bought and sold.
