Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

Pentangle arts is typically busy all year, with events and productions attended by 15,000 people, including residents in our community and other visitors who come to take advantage of our unique programs. Some of pentangle's live theatrical productions have included fiddler on the roof, cats, the wizard of oz, the rocky horror show, cabaret and hair. At pentangle, we strive to enrich our community by cultivating an appreciation of the arts through performances by world class musicians, from jazz to classical music. Pentangle arts offers free concerts during the summer and is an integral partner in community-wide cultural events such as woodstock's wassail weekend. However, during much of 2020 and 2021, the theater has been closed to the public due to the ongoing covid pandemic.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4D

While the theatre was closed, pentangle redirected some of the time of its staff to the woodstock town hall rejuvination project. The organization is collaborating with the town of woodstock, vermont on this, as the town hall building includes both the theater and town offices. Both pentangle and the town are collecting donations for the campaign to save town hall. Donations to pentangle, directed to the campaign to save town hall, were deposited in pentangle's designated campaign account, then transferred to the town of woodstock's dedicated campaign account. All expenses incurred for the rejuvenation process will be paid for by the town, who owns the building.

Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

The organization has analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the internal revenue service and all state jurisdictions where it operates. The organization believes that income tax filing positions will be sustained upon examination and does not anticipate any adjustments that would result in a material adverse effect on the organization's financial condition, results of operations or cash flows. Accordingly, they have not recorded any reserves, or related accruals for interest and penalties for uncertain income tax positions at june 30, 2021 and 2020.
