Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Accounting for uncertainty in income tax items the organization has analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the internal revenue service and all state jurisdictions where it operates. The organization believes that income tax filing positions will be sustained upon examination and does not anticipate any adjustments that would result in a material adverse effect on the organization's financial condition, results of operations or cash flows. Accordingly, they have not recorded any reserves, or related accruals for interest and penalties for uncertain income tax positions at june 30, 2025 and 2024.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0OVER THE PAST YEAR, PENTANGLE ARTS HAS MADE SIGNIFICANT STRIDES IN REVITALIZING THE HISTORIC WOODSTOCK TOWN HALL THEATRE WHILE EXPANDING ARTS PROGRAMMING THAT ENRICHES OUR ENTIRE COMMUNITY. AFTER 40 YEARS, THE LOBBY AND THEATRE RECEIVED LONG-AWAITED UPDATES, INCLUDING FRESH PAINT, RESTORED ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES, AND THE REOPENING OF THE ORIGINAL THEATRE WINDOW FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MORE THAN SIX DECADES. WE ALSO INTRODUCED A MORE WELCOMING GATHERING SPACE BY OFFERING WINE, BEER, AND LOCALLY SOURCED FARE AT EVENTS AND FILM SCREENINGS. WE EXTEND OUR SINCERE THANKS TO PLYMOUTH CHEESE, BLAKE HILL PRESERVES, FARMHOUSE POTTERY, AND SIMON PEARCE FOR THEIR GENEROUS CONTRIBUTIONS.THESE IMPROVEMENTS SUPPORT OUR VISION OF TOWN HALL AS A TRUE COMMUNITY HUBA PLACE TO GATHER, CONNECT, AND CELEBRATE THE ARTS. OUR LOBBY NOW OPENS ONE HOUR BEFORE SHOWS, GIVING PATRONS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SOCIALIZE AND ENJOY REFRESHMENTS BEFORE PERFORMANCES.THIS PAST SEASON, PENTANGLE LAUNCHED VERMONT AFTER-HOURS, A NEW SERIES DESIGNED TO BRING MORE VIBRANT EVENING PROGRAMMING TO DOWNTOWN WOODSTOCK WHILE STILL GETTING PEOPLE HOME BEFORE MIDNIGHT. THE SERIES DEBUTED ON FEBRUARY 14 WITH A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY MYRA FLYNN AND CONTINUES WITH A DIVERSE SLATE OF PERFORMERS, INCLUDING FRIGG (NORDIC FOLK FUSION) ON MARCH 6 AND COLD CHOCOLATE (AMERICANA BLUEGRASS) ON APRIL 4.TOWN HALL CONTINUES TO SERVE AS AN ESSENTIAL RESOURCE FOR LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS INCLUDING ZACK'S PLACE, THE LUCY MACKENZIE HUMANE SOCIETY, AND THE VERMONT MOUNTAIN BIKE ASSOCIATION. WE ARE ALSO PREPARING TO LAUNCH EXCITING NEW INITIATIVES, SUCH AS ART IN FILM, A COLLABORATION WITH THE HALL ART FOUNDATION; AN EXPANDED CINEMA CLUB; ENHANCED YOUTH EDUCATION AND CHORAL OPPORTUNITIES; AND AN EXPANDED MUDSTOCK WEEKEND IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ROTARY CLUB.WE ARE ALSO PREPARING TO UNVEIL A REDESIGNED WEBSITE TO BETTER INFORM, ENGAGE, AND SERVE OUR AUDIENCE. AND AS PENTANGLE LOOKS TO THE FUTURE, MORE THAN 200 COMMUNITY MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN OUR RECENT SURVEY, OFFERING VALUABLE INSIGHT THAT WILL HELP SHAPE OUR VISION FOR 2026 AND BEYOND.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0AT A TIME WHEN ARTS FUNDING IS DECLINING STATEWIDE, PENTANGLE REMAINS COMMITTED TO SERVING YOUNG PEOPLE. WE HOSTED A PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE OF HERO: THE BOY FROM TROY, INTRODUCING STUDENTS TO THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF JOHN LEWIS. WE BROUGHT INTERNATIONALLY CELEBRATED ARTISTS TUCK & PATTI TO READING MIDDLE SCHOOL AND WOODSTOCK UNION MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL FOR A MASTERCLASS, AND WE WELCOMED 200 STUDENTS FOR A LIVE PERFORMANCE OF PETER & THE WOLF BY THE VERMONT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRAPAIRED WITH A PUBLIC EVENING CONCERT. IMPROVEMENTS TO OUR THEATRE WILL FURTHER SUPPORT FUTURE AFTERNOON PROGRAMMING SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS.
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/ExpenseAmt016350
IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc0IN 2020 PENTANGLE COUNCIL ON THE ARTS PARTNERED WITH THE TOWN OF WOODSTOCK, VERMONT TO BEGIN RAISING FUNDS FOR THE WOODSTOCK TOWN HALL REJUVENATION PROJECT (THE CAMPAIGN TO SAVE TOWN HALL) , AS THE TOWN HALL INCLUDES BOTH THE THEATER AND TOWN OFFICES. BOTH PENTANGLE AND THE TOWN WERE COLLECTING DONATIONS FOR THE CAMPAIGN TO SAVE TOWN HALL. DONATIONS TO PENTANGLE, DIRECTED TO THE CAMPAIGN TO SAVE TOWN HALL, WERE DEPOSITED IN PENTANGLE'S DESIGNATED CAMPAIGN ACCOUNT, THEN TRANSFERRED TO THE TOWN OF WOODSTOCK'S DEDICATED CAMPAIGN ACCOUNT. IN NOVEMBER 2021 THE LEADERSHIP TEAM DIRECTING THE CAMPAIGN TO SAVE TOWN HALL WAS DISBANDED AT THE REQUEST OF THE TOWN SELECT BOARD AND ALL FUNDRAISING WAS SUSPENDED. IN DECEMBER 2021 THE CAMPAIGN WAS ABANDONED AND A NEW COMMITTEE WAS FORMED BY THE TOWN TO REVIEW WORK COMPLETED UP TO THAT POINT.
