Activity 2

The mission of MCD's Community Living segment is to provide over 300 individuals with intellectual, developmental and psychiatric disabilities, and frail elderly, most with dependencies in various Activities of Daily Living, with care, programs and services in safe and supportive living environments where they may live with dignity and respect, and as much independence as feasible. MCD's homes provide personal care and psychosocial rehabilitation services, allowing residents to re-learn or develop skills in as natural a setting as possible.

Activity 3

Medical Care Development International (MCDI) is a division of Medical Care Development, Inc., a private, non-profit voluntary organization whose mission is to enhance the well-being of people and communities in developing nations through technical assistance in health and socio-economic development. To this end, MCDI collaborates with institutions and the people they serve to design, implement, manage and evaluate innovative health and health-related programs. Since 1977, MCDI has provided technical assistance in over 25 countries and institutions in Africa through various donors. MCDI has also provided services in Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, and the Middle East. Malaria programming and program monitoring and evaluation are prominent in MCDI's expertise. MCDI also designs water supply and sanitation systems, provides HIV prevention care and treatment methods, reduces incidences of malaria transmission through indoor residual spraying and bet net utilization, increases child survival rates through maternal and newborn care and integrated management of childhood illnesses.
