IRS990/Description0INDIVIDUAL ADVOCACY AND CRISIS RESPONSE SERVICES: ONE-TO-ONE ASSISTANCE TO VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND CONCERNED OTHERS, ACCESSED THROUGH A 24-HOUR HOTLINE OR IN PERSON, FOR THE PURPOSE OF HELPING INDIVIDUALS AT RISK FROM DOMESTIC ABUSE AS WELL AS OTHERS IN CRISIS TO INCREASE THEIR SAFETY, MAXIMIZE THEIR CAPABILITY TO ACT ON THEIR OWN BEHALF, AND TO HAVE A GREATER SENSE OF POWER OVER THEIR LIVES. THE PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES EDUCATIONAL GROUPS, TRANSITIONAL HOUSING/SERVICES, AVAILABILITY AT OUTREACH OFFICES IN THE OUTLYING AREAS, EMERGENCY SHELTER, AND POSSIBLE HELP WITH TRANSPORTATION. DURING FY 2010, 421 PEOPLE WERE SERVED (377 WOMEN, 23 MEN, 15 CHILDREN, 6 YOUTH VICTIMS); 1,085 FACE-TO-FACE CONTACTS, AND 920 HOTLINE CALLS.
