Spurwink's Internship Incubator is a grant-funded program offering paid internships in mental health and nonprofit services. It emphasizes supervision, ethics, and leadership development, with strong hiring outcomes and support from multiple funders and agency leaders. Spurwink expanded ACT services in Lewiston-Auburn and launched a new team in Bridgton, addressing mental health service gaps with community-based care, small caseloads, and high-fidelity standards across Androscoggin and Oxford counties. Spurwink's Home for Good Auburn project will provide permanent housing and 24/7 behavioral health services to 20-30 chronically homeless individuals. Home for Good is a partnership with the city of Auburn and MaineHousing, prioritizing housing as a foundation for mental health and substance use recovery. Project Support You (PSY) offers community partnerships with law enforcement and emergency medical services, responding to calls from individuals living with substance misuse, homelessness, and mental illness and helping them get the support they need. Serving the community in the Lewiston area, our Community Health Worker (CHW) is a liaison between New Mainers needing recovery support and connections to treatment and area resources that can help them with these needs. Spurwink expanded psychiatric medication management services in Portland and Lewiston, with a new program added in Biddeford. These initiatives enhance access to behavioral health care, addressing growing community needs across multiple Maine regions.”
