Chaplaincy Program DevelopmentServices Provided: A significant portion of the organizations resources was dedicated to building and developing a comprehensive chaplaincy program. 84% of the budget was allocated to the salary of the independent contractor and 16% covered essential operational expenses including travel administrative costs and various office expenses directly related to program activities. These activities included:Multiple ride-alongs with officers from various departments to gain firsthand understanding of their needs.Meetings with individual officers including retired officers to gather insights and build relationships.Frequent visits to four law enforcement departments in the Stillwater area Stillwater Police Department Sheriffs Department Oklahoma State University Police Department and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Kiowa Tribe Police Department in Carnegie.Conducted an anonymous survey to assess officer opinions and needs related to the chaplaincy program.Recruiting and training chaplains to effectively serve the officers in the identified departments.Travel to Redding California to meet with the head chaplain of the Redding PD to learn best practices.Meetings with church leaders to share the Bulletproof Cop Initiative program and garner support.Persons Benefited: Directly benefited approximately 15-2 law enforcement officers through direct engagement and indirectly benefited all officers in the five departments through program development efforts.Relevant Information: The program is in the development phase with the independent contractor dedicating significant time and effort to lay the groundwork for ongoing chaplaincy support.
