DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Fiscal year 2024 represented the first year of active operations for the Cape Fear EMS Foundation. The organization's primary focus was establishing its structure, raising community awareness, and securing the financial base needed to launch long-term programs. The Foundation hosted three public fundraising events to introduce its mission, engage local residents and first responders, and raise funds to support future scholarships and hardship assistance. During this period, the Foundation also conducted six CPR classes, equipping participants with life-saving skills and strengthening public readiness for medical emergencies. Funds raised through one of the Foundation's major fundraising events have been designated for distribution in the next fiscal year as part of the Kevin Fuson Memorial Fund hardship assistance program, which provides financial relief to EMS professionals facing unexpected challenges. The Board of Directors convened to develop scholarship eligibility criteria and application procedures for EMS students enrolled in regional training programs. The Foundation's first scholarship application cycle is scheduled to open in the next fiscal year. These foundational efforts established the organizational framework, public presence, and funding base necessary to advance the Foundation's exempt purpose of supporting the EMS community and promoting public safety through education and outreach.$0$50
