Mission

To generate a positive impact on Gettysburg's tourism business and the economy of Adams County through the growth of commercial film, documentary and television production by attracting on location production, educating and promoting a local workforce and providing professional services to local and out of state film productions. The Commission is dedicated to serve the filmmaker's needs. We connect clients with locations, businesses, hotels, catering and production resources and help find creative solutions for projects of all budgets.

Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
The Gettysburg Film Commission provides access to information and resources necessary to attract, support and facilitate the production and creation of movies, films, documentaries and Television programming. The Commission is a repository of contacts for any individual or organization seeking to film, produce or create the media described above. The Commission has developed a database of skilled tradesmen, i.e., electricians, carpenters, lighting experts, sound equipment suppliers and operators, camera / recording equipment suppliers and operators, photographers, videographers, film editors, production companies, acting talent, producers, and directors. Mr. Brinkman has more than 30 years of experience in the film and acting industry and has developed strong, deep relationships within the industry. Ms. Webb has developed relationships within the local community. The Commission has the support of local, county and state government officials. The Commission has developed a process, in collaboration with local, county and state officials for permitting and approving the use of public and private lands for filming. The Commission has developed a listing of more than 50 site locations and has already crafted contracts and commitments with these property owners. Additionally, the Commission has a working relationship with the local authorities within the National Park Service at Gettysburg National Military Park. The Commission has a number of annual and ongoing community outreach programs such as its Gettysburg College Internship program, Cinema Under the Stars summer film presentations, a high school Senior Scholarship Program, and the Cinema Arts Film Festival. The Commission is developing a donor base and a number of local fundraising activities to financially support its efforts. The Film Commission is partnering with Destination Gettysburg, the official destination marketing organization for Gettysburg and Adams County. And finally, the Commission seeks to promote economic activity within Gettysburg and the surrounding counties through a network of referrals to hotels, motels, restaurants and travel companies as well as any and all local businesses that might support the efforts of any entity producing a film, documentary or television program locally. A database of "extras and volunteers is also in the works.--
