Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Cub ohio advocacy group (coag) is organized and operated exclusively for the promotion of social welfare within the meaning of section 501(c)(4) of the internal revenue code. Its primary purpose is to advance the common good and general welfare of residential and small business utility consumers in ohio by advocating for energy policies that lower costs, improve grid resiliency, reduce emissions, stimulate economic growth, increase consumers' control over their energy choices and monthly bills, and expand access to efficient, clean, innovative, and renewable energy options. The organization fulfills this mission through public advocacy, legislative outreach, and public education efforts focused on equitable energy reform.

In its first year of operation, coag prioritized legislative advocacy for energy efficiency, community energy, and commercial virtual net metering in ohio. Coag engaged in public education and grassroots advocacy to raise awareness about the benefits of these and to encourage ohio residents to express support to their representatives for them. The organization engaged with state legislators, hosted informational sessions, and collaborated with stakeholders to draft policy recommendations.
