“The washington organized retail crime association (waorca) is a 501(c)3 dedicated to fostering partnerships between law enforcement professionals, retail - loss prevention professionals, and prosecutors' offices working together to combat high-impact offenders connected to organized retail crime (orc) impacting wa state communities. The partnership will aid in the sharing of cross jurisdictional information to help identify, disrupt, and apprehend orc suspects in washington. Currently, waorca has obtained a grant through the wa state commerce department to support the funding of a prosecutor position in king, snohomish, and spokane county that target organized retail crime cases. The grant also supports funding for law enforcement agencies in king, snohomish, and spokane counties that target organized retail crime. The specific offices or agencies involved have signed agreements and specific requires for data that is required by the wa state commerce department. This grant will end, and a final report will be due by june of 2025.”

“In 2024 were awarded a grant by the wa state commerce to fund a prosecutor and support law enforcement operations (with contracted offices/agencies) in king county, snohomish county, and spokane county in wa state. These funds are directly related to combatingorganized retail crime subjects/groups in the state, victimizing our communities. This is a one-million-dollar grant that will directly impact public safety around the state. Waorca and partners involved in this grant will be providing collected data from enforcement, prosecution, and diversion programs to commerce in june 2025. Waorca hopes to apply for another grant in 2025 to make more of impact around the state”
