Each Interested Person shall annually sign a statement which affirms such person: a. Has received a copy of the conflict of interest policy, b. Has read and understands the policy, c. Has agreed to comply with the policy, and d. Understands the Organization is charitable and in order to maintain its federal tax exemption it must engage primarily in activities which accomplish one or more of its tax exempt purposes. To ensure the Organization operates in a manner consistent with charitable purposes and does not engage in activities that could jeopardize its tax-exempt status, periodic reviews shall be conducted. The periodic reviews shall, at a minimum, include the following subjects: a. Whether compensation arrangements and benefits are reasonable, based on competent survey information, and the result of arm's length bargaining. b. Whether partnerships, joint ventures, and arrangements with management organizations conform to the Organization's written policies, are properly recorded, reflect reasonable investment or payments for goods and services, further charitable purposes and do not result in inurement, impermissible private benefit or in an excess benefit transaction.”

The organization aims to acquire existing Catholic properties (either directly or through related entities like title holding companies or supporting organizations), restore them, and create sustainable endowment funds to relieve local leaders of financial burdens. These revitalized premises are intended to become not just places of worship, but also full-fledged community hubs. CRI plans to lease the properties back to parishes at nominal rates and manage renovations, fundraising, and property maintenance while promoting holistic community support. CRI's first project will be the restoration of the Basilica of Sainte Anne de Detroit (the "Ste. Anne Basilica Church"), a parish that was established in 1701 and is the second oldest continuously operating Roman Catholic parish in the United States. CRI will raise funds to complete capital improvements and other repairs and restoration work to the facility, and will establish an endowment fund to support the continued maintenance, repair, and improvement of the premises in perpetuity. |
