“The corporation is organized and shall be operated exclusively as a not-for-profit corporation for purposes that are charitable, educational, and scientific within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended, or the corresponding provisions of any future united states internal revenue law (the "code"). In furtherance of such charitable purposes, the corporation shall engage in activities for the benefit of, to perform the functions of, and to carry out the purposes of the following healthcare organizations that are affiliated with the corporation through the provision of managerial assistance and facilitation of financial assistance: richland memorial hospital.”

“In 2023, carle health system implemented a new corporate governance structure and created a carle health system governing board. There are five regional boards, including the south regional board (srb) under the system board. The srb has oversight responsibility for the carle health provider entities in the richland and olney areas. The srb met four times during 2024. Richland memorial hospital received critical access accreditation during 2024. The governing board has entered into discussions regarding a new hospital in richland county. Grants will need to be identified to assist with the funding of this project. The community health needs assessment was approved including adoption of an implementation plan for 2025-2027. The identified health needs include mental health, transportation, healthy foods, and dental care. These needs will be addressed by increasing access to care, addressing social service needs and gaps, and improving health knowledge and literacy. Marketing strategies were identified including building brand awareness and image, growing strategic service lines, and realigning resources around mission-focused priorities.”

“The average estimated hours per week listed for the reporting organization is based on a standard 40 hour week. Members may frequently devote more than 40 hours of service to the entire organization during an average week.”
