IRS990ScheduleA/FactsAndCircumstancesTestTxt0ATTRACTION OF PUBLIC SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES AN INCREDIBLE CONVENIENCE AND ACCESS TO THE TARGET AUDIENCE OF THE NUMEROUS GOVERNMENT VETERAN SERVICES AGENCIES. THESE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES HAVE A VESTED INTEREST IN SUPPORTING AND PARTICIPATING WITH ORGANIZATION. THE MEMBERSHIP OF THIS ORGANIZATION REPRESENTS THE CONSUMERS OF THE SERVICES THESE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES PROVIDE. IN A SIMILAR CONCEPT, MEMBERSHIP IN THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES MEMBERS AND THEIR VETERAN GROUP ACCESS AND INFORMATION TO HIGHLY VALUABLE AND CRITICAL VETERAN SERVICES AND BENEFITS. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES A MUTUAL BENEFIT TO BOTH THE MEMBERS AND GOVERNMENTAL UNITS. IN ADDITIONAL TO ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUOUSLY SOLICITS FUNDS FROM THE PUBLIC AND HAS A FORMAL PARTNERSHIP WITH A LOCAL LARGE RETAILER TO ANNUALLY MATCH CONTRIBUTIONS FOR A ONE-MONTH PERIOD. THE ORGANIZATION'S LARGEST ANNUAL EVENT, THE VETERANS DAY CEREMONY, ATTRACTS SIGNIFICANT SUPPORT AND PARTICIPATION FROM GOVERNMENT LEADERS, MILITARY BRANCHES, COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL ORGANIZATIONS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. SUPPORT FOR VETERANS IS PATRIOTIC AND MOST INDIVIDUALS HAVE EITHER FAMILY MEMBERS OR FRIENDS WHO ARE VETERANS. MULTI-FACTOR ANALYSIS SOURCES OF SUPPORT: SUPPORT TO THE ORGANIZATION IS RECEIVED FROM A BROAD SPECTRUM OF THE GOVERNMENT AND THE COMMUNITY. IN-KIND SUPPORT FROM GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND AGENCIES INCLUDES FEDERAL, STATE, AND COUNTY, FROM THE GOVERNOR, MAYOR, MILITARY BRANCHES, AND VARIOUS AGENCIES. ADDITIONAL IN-KIND SUPPORT IS PROVIDED BY COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AT EITHER SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED OR FREE COSTS. MONETARY SUPPORT INCLUDES ANNUAL MEMBER DUES AND CONTINUOUS SOLICITATION OF CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY. A PARTNERSHIP WITH A MAJOR RETAILER ON THE ISLAND PROVIDES FOR MATCHING CONTRIBUTIONS BY THE RETAILER FOR ONE MONTH A YEAR. REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNING BODY: THE ORGANIZATION'S BOARD IS ELECTED BY A MAJORITY VOTE OF ALL MEMBERS AND IS COMPRISED OF UNRELATED COMMUNITY MEMBERS OF DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS BUT WHO ALL HAVE AN INTEREST IN SUPPORTING THE VETERAN COMMUNITY. BOARD MEMBERS INCLUDE VETERANS FROM EVERY BRANCH OF THE MILITARY AND ACROSS A BROAD RANGE OF RANKS. MANY BOARD MEMBERS HAVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE VARIOUS FEDERAL AND STATE VETERAN AGENCIES ON OAHU. THESE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS ALLOW FOR ACCESS TO HIGH LEVEL AGENCY EXECUTIVES WHO WORK WITH THE BOARD MEMBERS TO DISSEMINATE CRITICAL INFORMATION FOR VETERAN SERVICES PROVIDED BY THESE AGENCIES AND TO IDENTIFY AND RESOLVE ISSUES IN THE EXECUTION OF VETERAN SERVICES. THESE RELATIONSHIPS PROVIDE ULTIMATE EXPERTISE IN VETERANS SERVICES AND BENEFITS. AVAILABILITY OF PUBLIC FACILITIES OR SERVICES: PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN PROGRAMS OR POLICIES: IN SUPPORT OF ITS MISSION OBJECTIVE, THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORS SIGNIFICANT COMMUNITY PROGRAMS TO HIGHLIGHT VETERANS AND SUPPORT OF MILITARY SERVICE. INCLUDED IN THESE EVENTS ARE AN ANNUAL VETERANS DAY CEREMONY ATTENDED BY THE PUBLIC WITH PARTICIPATION OF HUNDREDS OF PUBLIC OFFICIALS SUCH AS THE GOVERNOR, COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND ORGANIZATIONS, SCHOOL GROUPS, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. ADDITIONALLY, THE PAST TWO YEARS, THE CEREMONY HAS BEEN BROADCASTED VIA VIDEO AS A COMMUNITY SERVICE BY 2 TELEVISION STATIONS AND POSTED TO VARIOUS PLATFORMS ON THE INTERNET. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO HAS ESTABLISHED VARIOUS PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY AND THE VETERAN GROUPS. THESE PROGRAMS ENCOURAGE COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO INTERACT WITH THE VETERAN GROUPS AND LEARN ABOUT THE HISTORY OF VETERANS (SUCH AS THE PURPLE HEARTS SPEAKERS).
