Ho'ala monitors and enforces its conflict of interest policy by holding monthly Board meetings as well as weekly faculty meetings where these particular items can be discussed in a forum. IRS990/Desc0From Aug 2019 to Feb 2020, Ho'ala students continued on campus classes. Students participated in several events during this time including the annual Veteran's Day parade (flag waving) and the annual Wahiawa Christmas parade. In March 2020, the campus was shut down due to government mandates in response to the Covid pandemic and faculty and staff worked diligently to continue education through online and virtual formats. Students were able to complete the academic year of 2019-2020. Despite the pandemic and school closure, Ho'ala was able to successfully hold its first ever 100% virtual annual fundraiser in April.

Each applicant family that completes the financial aid application must also provide the most recent tax return and two months worth of income/paystubs and any other financial documents that present their financial picture. The families are asked what their expected contribution will be for the school year for each student attending school as well as the amount of aid they are requesting. Each family's unique situation is considered on an individual basis but also by their ability to pay, volunteerism during school activities and fundraising and attendance of parenting classes. A financial analysis of each family is done by the business manager/bookkeeper and Head of School that is then reviewed by the financial aid committee who will determine the amount of aid that will be awarded to each applicant family. The committee strictly looks to service families who are in the most need since tuition assistance funding is limited. There is no weight given to returning students/applicants versus new families/applicants.
