“The nine voting members of the CGIAR System Management Board are selected and appointed by the General Assembly of the Centers (a representative body of the 15 CGIAR Research Centers) typically for a two-year term; their rights in this regard are set out in Article 5.6 of the Charter of the CGIAR System Organization. Membership rotations are staggered to ensure a balance between continuity of expertise and bringing new voices to the Board. During 2018, a decision was taken to adjust the composition of the System Management Board to a balance of three independent members and six Center-affiliated members (from two independent members and seven Center-affiliated members), with a third independent member being appointed from 1 December 2018.”

The cgiar trust fund provides reliable and predictable multi-year funding to enable research planning over the long term, resource allocation based on agreed priorities, and the timely and predictable disbursement of funds”
