Mission

Adara's focus is on improving health and education for women, children and communities living in poverty. We are experts in maternal, infant and child health; remote and rural community development; and the care, support and reintegration of children at risk. We also aim to change the way people think about the role of business in the world and the power of business/non-profit partnerships as well as share our expertise and experience to achieve greater impact.

We work side by side with women, children and their communities in remote and rural areas in Nepal and Uganda to improve their lives through health, education, and other development projects. We also aim to change the way people think about the role of business in the world and the power of business/non-profit partnerships as well as share our expertise and experience to achieve greater impact.

“Adara Development (USA) has a conflict of interest policy which is intended to protect the entity's interest when it is contemplating entering into a transaction or arrangement that might benefit the private interest of an Officer or Director of the entity or might result in a possible excess benefit transaction for tax purposes. Compliance with the policy is monitored by a standing committee of independent directors and trustees of Adara Development Boards on an ongoing basis. Directors of Adara Development (USA) are required to make conflict of interest declarations on a six monthly basis and are required to sign an annual certification that they have received a copy of the conflict of interest policy which they have read and understood, that they agree to comply with the policy, and that they understand that the entity is charitable and in order to maintain its federal tax exemption it must engage primarily in activities which accomplish one or more of its tax exempt purposes.”
