Community partners (the organization") is a california nonprofit public benefit corporation that helps foster, launch and grow creative solutions to community challenges. Through fiscal sponsorship, the organization provides the benefits of tax-exempt status, a full range of back-office services, and expert guidance to the 160-plus projects working under its umbrella. As an intermediary, the organization combines its robust financial and administrative services with extensive nonprofit development experience to help foundations, government agencies and other institutions create and manage complex initiatives, build grantee capacity, and supports other efforts to advance the public good. The organization's knowledge sharing activities are designed to capture and disseminate nonprofit best practices, as well as generate innovative ideas and perspectives to strengthen leaders, build the field, and serve as a springboard for an effective civil society. Across all program areas, the organization works toward its organizational vision: a vibrant society in which individuals and institutions use knowledge, resources and relationships to build equitable, democratic and thriving communities. The organization's work spans a wide range of fields, including civic engagement, arts and culture, education, social justice, health, public policy, social services and youth.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization recognizes the impact of tax positions on the financial statements in accordance with financial accounting standards board ("fasb") accounting standards codification topic no. 740, accounting for uncertainty in income taxes ("asc 740"). Asc 740 clarifies the uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an enterprise's financial statements in accordance with fasb statements no. 109, accounting for income taxes, and prescribes a recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. In accordance with asc 740 the organization recognizes the impact of tax positions in the financial statements if that position is more likely than not of being sustained on audit, based on the technical merits of the position. To date, the organization has not recorded any uncertain tax positions.
