Medpoint management, an independent contractor, performs management duties for health care la, ipa, including, but not limited to, planning and executing budgets or financial operations, supervising exempt operations, and negotiating and administrating plan contracts and provider contracts. It also handles claims processing, and eligibility and benefits management.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

Healthcare la, ipa's accounting department collected the necessary information to complete the tax return. The accounting firm rsm us llp prepared the return, which was is reviewed by the ceo. Any changes if applicable are submitted to the executive committee for final review. Once finalized, the completed tax return is shared with the board.

Every year, hcla will require conflict of interest statements from committee and board members. Actual or perceived conflicts of interest will be brought to the committee chair, or the board should the conflict rest with the committee chair. Individuals will be required to recuse themselves from votes involving conflicts or interest, or resign from their committee position.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Explanation for uncertain tax positions under fin 48: tax positions are not offset or aggregated with other positions. Tax positions that meet the more likely than not recognition threshold are measured as the largest amount of tax benefit that is more than 50% likely to be realized on settlement with the applicable taxing authority. The portion of the benefits associated with tax positions taken that exceeds the amount measured, as described above, is reflected as a liability for unrecognized tax benefits in the accompanying balance sheets, along with any associated interest and penalties that would be payable to the taxing authorities upon examination. Upon adoption and as of december 31, 2024 and 2023, the company has addressed uncertainty in its income tax position under this guidance and there are no unrecognized/derecognized tax benefits that require an accrual.
