Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The nonprofit entities consolidated in these consolidated finanacial statements have been granted exemption from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and section 23701(d) of the california revenue and taxation code. For the year ended december 31, 2024, no provision for unrelated business income taxes has been made. Income taxes on limited partnership and limited liability company income are included in the tax returns of the partners or members. The federal tax status as a pass-through entity is based on its legal status as a limited partnership or limited liability company and is required to file tax returns with the irs and other taxing authorities. Accordingly, these consolidated financial statements do not reflect a provision for income taxes. However, the limited liability companies are required to pay an $800 fee to the california franchise tax board. The organization determined there are no tax positions which must be considered for disclosure. With few exceptions, the organization is no longer subject to income tax examinations by tax authorities for years before 2015. There are no current tax examinations pending.

HCHC OPERATES A WEEKLY FOOD PANTRY THAT SERVES BOTH RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS, PROVIDING GROCERIES AND ESSENTIAL ITEMS TO HUNDREDS OF HOUSEHOLDS EACH YEAR.
