Mission

The mission of the culver city rotary community foundation is to provide financial support on a continuing basis for local charitable organizations and to fund humanitarian projects that promote education or social welfare purposes. The foundation is a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by contributions from members of the rotary club of culver city and friends of the foundation who share the rotary vision of world understanding, goodwill, and peace.

Youth services boy scout troop 113: spponsorship funding is provided on an annual basis for this culver city based troop of the boy scouts of america. The local troop has about 30 boys. The troop utilized the contribution to under- write the costs of their project ot provide flowers on memorial day on the gravestones of those veterans buried at the local cemetary in west los angeles. Culver city education foundation: the community foundation contributes annuallyto this community based irc 501(c)(3) charity. The c.c.e.f. Is a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and en- hancing quality educational programs for every student enrolled in the c.c. U.s.d. Through the education foundation we provide scholarships for high school students, and this year we provided a technology grant to purchase computer and electronic equipement for high school, middle school and grammer school. Scholarship funds: 3,000 culver city scholarship fund: the foundationcontributes anually to this 501(c)(3) entity created to raise funds to provide scholarships for students to continue their education upon graduation from culver city high school, a unit of the culver city unified school district. Over 100 scholarships are awarded annually under this scholarship program and our fuondation funds two or more of these shcolarships with its annual contribution: culver palms family ymca: the ymca is an association of people of all ages united in a common effort to put judeo-christian principles into daily practice and to enrich the quality of the spiritual, mental, physical and social lives of their families, their community and themselves. The culve- palms family ymca, a unit of the ymca of metropolitan los angeles, has been one of the primary annual beneficiaries of the funds raised by the comm- unity foundation due to the impact of the y upon the dquality of life in the city of culver city. Contribution-3,000. The foundation has provided grants to the culver city schools for various activities for which there is no longer funding. Rotary foundation of rotary international: the community foundation made contributions to the rotary foundation for various international projects administered by rotary international for the polio plus campaign to eradicate polio in the world. Currently, the rotary international found- ation is in the process of raising 200 million to match the contribution made by the william and melinda gates foundation to eradicate polio in the four remaining countries of afghanistan, india, nigeria and pakistan which are not yet polio free. Through rotary international we have also pro- vided funds for a wheel chair grant in puerto rico, for a clinic in india and various other international projects throughout the world. 3,000 other projects sponsored by the foundation include the following: culver city robotics team sponsor in the amount of 1,000 grammar school dictionary project-1,320 ryla-rotary youth leadership assembly: the foundation provides funding for up to five deserving high school students attending culver city high school to participate in a weekend leadership retreat in the mountains near los angeles, ca with over 100 other high school students from the greater los angeles area. 570 the rotary club annually provides toys for the united states marines in camp pendleton for those wives with childred whose spouse is deployed overseas-1,000 the rotary club sponsors the robotics club at the culver city high school in the amount of 1,000 the foundation has also purchased new computer equipment for the culver city teen center because there is no funding from the state or local governments in the amount of 3,000 rotary donates to the culver city high school pta to provide back packs for disadvangage youth in the culver city schools and the back packs are packed with food for the weekend. These students would othewise go without food. Donation for this project is 3,000 rotary club sponsored a tutoring probgram for culve

THE LOCAL TROOP HAS ABOUT 30 BOYS. THE TROOP UTILIZED THE CONTRIBUTION TO UNDER- WRITE THE COSTS OF THEIR PROJECT OT PROVIDE FLOWERS ON MEMORIAL DAY ON THE GRAVESTONES OF THOSE VETERANS BURIED AT THE LOCAL CEMETARY IN WEST LOS ANGELES. CULVER CITY EDUCATION FOUNDATION: THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTES ANNUALLYTO THIS COMMUNITY BASED IRC 501(C)(3) CHARITY. THE C.C.E.F. IS A CHARITABLE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING AND EN- HANCING QUALITY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR EVERY STUDENT ENROLLED IN THE C.C. U.S.D. THROUGH THE EDUCATION FOUNDATION WE PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, AND THIS YEAR WE PROVIDED A TECHNOLOGY GRANT TO PURCHASE COMPUTER AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPEMENT FOR HIGH SCHOOL, MIDDLE SCHOOL AND GRAMMER SCHOOL. SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS: 3,000 CULVER CITY SCHOLARSHIP FUND: THE FOUNDATIONCONTRIBUTES ANUALLY TO THIS 501(C)(3) ENTITY CREATED TO RAISE FUNDS TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION UPON GRADUATION FROM CULVER CITY HIGH SCHOOL, A UNIT OF THE CULVER CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT. OVER 100 SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED ANNUALLY UNDER THIS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AND OUR FUONDATION FUNDS TWO OR MORE OF THESE SHCOLARSHIPS WITH ITS ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION: CULVER PALMS FAMILY YMCA: THE YMCA IS AN ASSOCIATION OF PEOPLE OF ALL AGES UNITED IN A COMMON EFFORT TO PUT JUDEO-CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO DAILY PRACTICE AND TO ENRICH THE QUALITY OF THE SPIRITUAL, MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND SOCIAL LIVES OF THEIR FAMILIES, THEIR COMMUNITY AND THEMSELVES. THE CULVE- PALMS FAMILY YMCA, A UNIT OF THE YMCA OF METROPOLITAN LOS ANGELES, HAS BEEN ONE OF THE PRIMARY ANNUAL BENEFICIARIES OF THE FUNDS RAISED BY THE COMM- UNITY FOUNDATION DUE TO THE IMPACT OF THE Y UPON THE DQUALITY OF LIFE IN THE CITY OF CULVER CITY. CONTRIBUTION-3,000. THE FOUNDATION HAS PROVIDED GRANTS TO THE CULVER CITY SCHOOLS FOR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES FOR WHICH THERE IS NO LONGER FUNDING. ROTARY FOUNDATION OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL: THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION MADE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ROTARY FOUNDATION FOR VARIOUS INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS ADMINISTERED BY ROTARY INTERNATIONAL FOR THE POLIO PLUS CAMPAIGN TO ERADICATE POLIO IN THE WORLD. CURRENTLY, THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL FOUND- ATION IS IN THE PROCESS OF RAISING 200 MILLION TO MATCH THE CONTRIBUTION MADE BY THE WILLIAM AND MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION TO ERADICATE POLIO IN THE FOUR REMAINING COUNTRIES OF AFGHANISTAN, INDIA, NIGERIA AND PAKISTAN WHICH ARE NOT YET POLIO FREE. THROUGH ROTARY INTERNATIONAL WE HAVE ALSO PRO- VIDED FUNDS FOR A WHEEL CHAIR GRANT IN PUERTO RICO, FOR A CLINIC IN INDIA AND VARIOUS OTHER INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. 3,000 OTHER PROJECTS SPONSORED BY THE FOUNDATION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: CULVER CITY ROBOTICS TEAM SPONSOR IN THE AMOUNT OF 1,000 GRAMMAR SCHOOL DICTIONARY PROJECT-1,320 RYLA-ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP ASSEMBLY: THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES FUNDING FOR UP TO FIVE DESERVING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ATTENDING CULVER CITY HIGH SCHOOL TO PARTICIPATE IN A WEEKEND LEADERSHIP RETREAT IN THE MOUNTAINS NEAR LOS ANGELES, CA WITH OVER 100 OTHER HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM THE GREATER LOS ANGELES AREA. 570 THE ROTARY CLUB ANNUALLY PROVIDES TOYS FOR THE UNITED STATES MARINES IN CAMP PENDLETON FOR THOSE WIVES WITH CHILDRED WHOSE SPOUSE IS DEPLOYED OVERSEAS-1,000 THE ROTARY CLUB SPONSORS THE ROBOTICS CLUB AT THE CULVER CITY HIGH SCHOOL IN THE AMOUNT OF 1,000 THE FOUNDATION HAS ALSO PURCHASED NEW COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FOR THE CULVER CITY TEEN CENTER BECAUSE THERE IS NO FUNDING FROM THE STATE OR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN THE AMOUNT OF 3,000 ROTARY DONATES TO THE CULVER CITY HIGH SCHOOL PTA TO PROVIDE BACK PACKS FOR DISADVANGAGE YOUTH IN THE CULVER CITY SCHOOLS AND THE BACK PACKS ARE PACKED WITH FOOD FOR THE WEEKEND.
