OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Permanent Housing Assistance Program offers both Housing First services (rapid placement) and services to long-term residential clients ready to move from shelter into permanent housing. Our Permanent Housing Assistance Program makes housing the first priority as we engage culturally diverse victims of domestic violence and their children and help them navigate the transition to survivor. Our priorities are to: 1) Focus on safety and housing stability; 2) Provide access to permanent housing for survivors of DV and their children who are fleeing family violence and facing homelessness; 3) Provide case management that addresses families practical and emotional needs; and 4) Offer financial support (move-in or relocation assistance, rental assistance [eviction prevention], rent/utility arrears, transportation, credit checks, client security assistance, and household establishment education). OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Youth and Outreach Programming focuses on creating and sustaining long-term change for children and youth exposed to violence and/or at risk of teen dating violence. Children and youth who are navigating through trauma often struggle with many challenges, such as: debilitating feelings of shame, secrecy, fear, anxiety, self-blame, and depression. Feelings of worthlessness, impaired abilities to engage in mutually trusting relationships, drug addictions, and failure to achieve socially normative educational and vocational milestones are many of the challenges children and youth navigate before meeting with our staff. Through dedication, time, resources, consistency and the provision of case management and counseling, our services' primary goals are empowerment and recovery, tailored to each child survivors' unique recovery needs.Total program expenses were $505,574. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Family Source Centers mission is to move low-income City residents onto a pathway out of poverty; prepare low-income children and youth to graduate from high school and qualify for post-secondary education; provide safe, stable, and affordable housing services for those at risk of displacement; and financially empower low to moderate income City residents through asset building that targets low-income children and parents from the same household. Services shall be provided through a prevention framework that addresses a family's crisis, stabilizes their economic security, and builds economic resilience by focusing on three primary outcomes: (1) improved housing stability, (2) increased financial security, and (3) improved academic achievement. This approach to poverty alleviation focuses on the well-being of the whole household and emphasizes education, economic opportunity, and meeting basic needs to achieve greater financial stability, prevent new cases of homelessness, and create a legacy of economic security that will pass from one generation to the next. Total program expenses were $419,964.

IRS990/MissionDesc0Jenesse Center, Inc.'s (Jenesse) mission is to restore families impacted by domestic and sexual violence through holistic, trauma-informed, culturally responsive services, and advance prevention initiatives that foster and sustain healthy, violence-free communities.Jenesse is a domestic violence intervention and prevention non-profit organization that was founded in 1980 by five African American women. These courageous women were all survivors of domestic violence (DV) and grew tired of watching their community suffer the negative consequences of domestic and family violence. They made a decision to act and became a part of the solution. Jenesse was born and since its inception, the founders employed a whole person approach in providing domestic violence services designed to address the full scope of impediments that victims face when overcoming abuse.More than just a shelter for victims of DV, Jenesse is an innovative, community-based institute designed to empower and restore family u

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0Permanent Housing Assistance Program offers both Housing First services (rapid placement) and services to long-term residential clients ready to move from shelter into permanent housing.
