“The Form 990 and related schedules are prepared by the Accountant based on the Organization's accounting records. The accounting records are currently undergoing the required single audit. The reports were reviewed by the Organization's Executive Director, Board Treasurer and Board President. If everything is correct and complies with all the requirements of the grant funders and applicable federal and state regulating agencies, it is approved by the Board President and Treasurer, signed by the Executive Director and submitted to the appropriate filing agencies.”

“The Organization maintains a written conflict of interest policy. The Organization's Executive Director monitors and enforces compliance with this policy.”

“Compensation to employees are set in the Organization's salaries and wages compensation approved chart. Any deviation from the chart for new hires and current employees promoted to another position are reviewed and approved by the Executive Director. The Organization's salaries and wage chart are periodically being reviewed and updated to reflect the current prevailing pay scale of similar organizations, salary surveys and federal and state job and employment information.”

“Southern California Housing Rights Center is a non-profit organization and its accounting records and related documents are available for public access. Financial reports were submitted to government regulating agencies and were available for public access. Public documents can also be requested by visiting or calling the administrative office of the Housing Rights Center.”

“OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: The Housing Rights Center has twenty four (24) other smaller pass-through contracts with other Southern California cities utilizing CDBG funds to provide similar fair housing services to community residents. The Organization has provided assistance to individuals and families from these cities with housing concerns involving potential discrimination issues, conducted investigations, provided mediations, outreach and education programs and other related activities to promote fair housing.”

“The Organization's general ledger and related accounting records are currently undergoing its annual single audit. Completion of the audit report is expected to be within the next 60 days. Delays have been due to unavailability of staff, continued off-site work schedules, increase in program services delivery being prioritized and the continuing related effects of the pandemic and disasters that have happened in California.”

“Southern California Housing Rights Center provides to its regular employees and part-time employees working at least 20 hours per week, as part of its Employee Benefits, vacation leave based on employees years of service to the Organization. Vacation hours are accrued up to a certain limit. Unused vacation hours are reflected on the books at its current value based on the employees current salary rates. Applicable Federal FICA social and Medical taxes are also accrued on the books.”
