Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

The association has been granted a tax-exempt status under section 501(c) (6) of the internal revenue code as an entity organized and operated as a business league, and a similar provision in the oregon tax code. The association is required to pay federal and state taxes only on its net unrelated business income for advertising. The association believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken and, therefore, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements for the year ended december 31, 2017. The federal, oregon, and california tax-exempt and income tax returns of the association for 2014 through 2016 are subject to examination by the internal revenue service, oregon department of revenue, and california franchise tax board, generally for three years after they were filed.
