“The organization's governing document was amended to: 1. Reduce the members of the board's labor relations committee to one (1) member elected from the membership at large at the december elections, who would now be a member of the grievance committee as well; 2. Define "member in good standing" to mean one who has dues paid up to one month of the elections and owes no more than $100 in fines and assessments.”

“The local has 1100 regular members as of december 31, 2016. Only regular members have voting rights.”

“The local's governing body is elected by its members.”

“All decisions of the governing body are subject to approval by the members.”

“No other committee has authority to act on behalf of the governing body.”

“Review of the fprm 990 is conducted by the board of trustees, titled officers and the executive board in a special executive board meeting after its filing.”

“The local's officers and employees are required to complete annual questionnaires regarding potential conflicts of interest.”

“Officers salaries are determined by the collective bargaining agreement (cba). Officers are compensated under the skill level 3 category of the the cba. The cba outlines the pay-scale for 5 years until the cba expires, at which time a negotiation committee is formed consisting of members of all ilwu locals. Once the new contract is accepted by a 2/3 vote of the membership, the rates go into effect. This process was last completed in may 2015.”
