“The organization is a real estate board or association and it has its members. There are 6 classes of membership - (1) realtor members, (2) institute affiliate members, (3) affiliate members, (4) public service members, (5) honorary members, and (6) student members.”

“The nominating committee chooses one candidate for each open director or officer seat, and then presents all the selected candidates as a slate to the full membership for voting. If a candidate is not on the slate and still wants to run for election to a seat, then he or she may do so by obtaining petition signatures from 5% of the members eligible to vote. Gaor staff conducts the vote by secret ballot either online or in person, and then tallies the results and presents them to the election committee for ratification. The election committee reviews the results and ratifies them by a simple majority vote, at which point the results become official and are publicly announced at our annual membership meeting normally held in july.”
