“SANTA CLARA COUNTY PEACE OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION JUNE 30, 2017 FED. #94-6122042 CALIF. #D-0489331 FORM 990 - STATEMENT 1The Articles of Incorporation state the following purposes of the Association, which qualify them for their non-profit exemption.Purpose is to professionalize law enforcement in Santa Clara County and to promote increased cooperation and mutual understanding among law enforcement agencies and their employees.To develop and operate a youth center for the education and training of boys and girls in the field of physical fitness, first aid, survival, safety and citizenship, and for the prevention of juvenile delinquency.To operate for the purpose of the betterment of the community as a whole.In accomplishing the purpose as set out in the Articles, the Peace Officers assess membership dues, which are directly related to promoting cooperation among the various law enforcement agencies in Santa Clara County.The interest income earned on bank savings accounts is related income. The money in the accounts was from related activities and has been used for exempt purposes. The interest earned on these accounts is also used for exempt purposes.The Santa Clara County Peace Officers' Association has contracted with TBS Productions, 5225 Pentecost Drive, No. 18, Modesto, CA 95356 to organize their annual rodeo fundraiser. The current contract gives the Peace Offices 20% of the gross receipts up to $350,000 and 25% of the gross receipts over that amount.”
