Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part XI, line 9:

Unrealized loss on foreign currency exchange -90,386.

Form 990, Part XII, Line 2C

The Organization's audit committee is charged with the responsibility of overseeing the audit and the work of the independent auditors. This process has not changed from prior years.

Financial Statement Notes

Part X, Line 2:

The Organization evaluates its uncertain tax positions and will recognize a loss contingency when it is probable that a liability has been incurred as of the date of the financial statements and the amount of the loss can be reasonably estimated. The amount recognized is subject to estimate and management judgment with respect to the likely outcome of each uncertain tax position. The amount that is ultimately sustained for an individual uncertain tax position or for all uncertain tax positions in the aggregate could differ from the amount recognized. As of December 31, 2014, management did not identify any uncertain tax positions.

Part XI, Line 2D - Other Adjustments:

Unrealized loss on foreign currency exchange -90,386.

IRS990ScheduleA/FactsAndCircumstancesTestTxt0The SENS Research Foundation ("SRF") meets the facts and circumstances test of section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) and regulation 1.170A-9(f)(3). The Organization maintains a qualifying program for solicitation of funds and the Organization is of the nature of an organization which is publicly supported. The Organization normally receives a substantial part of its support from contributions made directly or indirectly by the general public. The percentage of support normally received by the Organization from contributions made directly or indirectly by the general public is at least 10 percent of the total support normally received by the Organization. In the 2014 tax year, 29% of SRF's support came from public funding, up from 21% in the prior year. SRF's financial support consists of a combination of foundations, corporations, government bodies, and individual donors. In addition to continued financial support from existing donors, SRF plans to solicit contributions through phone, email, social media, fundraising events, as well as donations made on the SRF website. SRF is optimistic that the number of supporters will grow further in the coming year. The Organization also maintains a continuous and bona-fide program for solicitation of funds from the general public or community. Due to growth seen in donations in the past 5 years, SRF has begun to expand the scope of its solicitations to encompass more of the general public and to reach out to more individuals who may be interested in donating to the Organization. Additionally, the following facts and circumstances are pertinent to the Organization:The SENS Research Foundation ("SRF") works to develop, promote and ensure widespread access to regenerative medicine solutions to the disabilities and diseases of aging. It is achieving this goal through a combination of scientific research projects, educational programs, and outreach efforts. SRF's governing body is representative of the broad interests of the public. There are 7 directors on its board, including scientists, educators, and business people with experience and connections to universities, medical centers, and the scientific community. SRF's directors are internationally positioned to better support the global community's needs.SRF routinely publishes results of funded projects in peer-reviewed journals and presents those findings at internationally attended scientific conferences. SRF has a routinely updated listing of all its publications at http://sens.org/research/recent-publications that is made readily available to the general public. SRF puts on an Industry-focused conference annually in the Bay area of California. The Rejuvenation Biotechnology conference in 2014 had 3 conference tracks that included topics such as Alzheimer's Disease, Investment, Cardiovascular Disease, and Economic Impact of an Aging Population on the Health Care System. The attendance was approximately 350 attendees from Academia, Industry, and Government. In addition, videos of all presentations have been made available at no cost on the SRF website and YouTube channel.Members of the scientific community, educators, and medical professionals participate in SRF projects. We have 10 extramural research projects that include Harvard University, Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine, Yale University, and Oxford University, as well at 3 intramural research projects at the SRF Research Center in Mountain View, California. SRF also has a 28-member, world-class Research Advisory Board featuring leading scientists in the international community. SRF's educational program hosts research scholars and volunteers throughout the academic year at their Research Center, as well as their nationally and internationally affiliated organizations.
