The International Academy of Collaborative Professionals is organized to teach, train, and disseminate educational material to the public, including, but not limited to, material relating to Collaborative Practice and other alternative dispute resolution processes, through publications, training, seminars, lectures, workshops, and other educational methods.
IACPs mission is to unite and empower a global network of professionals who are dedicated to transforming conflict resolution using the principles of Collaborative Practice.

“The Treasurer of the Organization distributes a pdf copy of the 990 to all Board members for review and comment prior to the return being filed.”
“IACP holds a yearly board retreat in which all board members participate in the review of the conflict-of-interest policy and discuss any potential conflicts. During the orientation for new board members, the conflict-of-interest policy is discussed in depth and new members sign and submit the form at the conclusion of the orientation.”
“IACP has a compensation policy in place for officers which is reviewed bi-annually by The Governance Committee. The review includes a written survey completed by each board member, self-evaluation completed by the officer, teleconference between the committee and key board members, in-person meetings between the committee and the officer, and an executive session with the committee and board as a whole without the officer present. The analysis of officer salary includes acessing national salary surveys, research of salary structures for comparable positions in the field, and job performance evaluation and measured deliverables of the officer. The Governance Committee deliberate and provides the recommended compensation to The Board. The Board then votes and approves or disproves the recommended compensation.”

The organization conducted global outreach to support the growth of Collaborative Practice and fostered open dialogue across the international community. IACP maintained its comprehensive website and produced resources to educate practitioners, clients, and the public. The Speakers Bureau provided Collaborative practice groups with affordable access to thought leaders of the Collaborative community. IACP supported Uniform Collaborative Law Act education efforts in the U.S. The organization hosted discussions for Collaborative Practice trainers to promote best practices and techniques for developing the next generation of Collaborative Professionals. The organization also reviewed and updated its Ethics and Standards to support high-quality, consistent practice worldwide. Of note, most of IACPs program expenses are provided as part of its membership services. It collects some program revenue from webinars that are open to non-members, and through multi-session seminars which have a registration fee. |
