Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 2

Dan wieden, karrelle dixon, david luhr, and mary normand share a common employer, wieden + kennedy. In addition, dan wieden, priscilla bernard wieden, and bryan wieden have a family relationship.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The form 990 is prepared by an independent cpa, reviewed by management, presented to the finance committee for review, and presented to the full board for approval prior to its filing.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The policy is re-distributed annually for review and signature by board members and staff, disclosing any conflicts. The summaries are sent directly to the organization's independent auditors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

Elements of the review include salary comparison with like-kind organizations with similar budgets. In addition, all board members and staff complete a directors review (board members) or a 10-question survey with various management questions (staff). The in-person review is conducted by the board co-chairs using the information culled.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

A significant portion of information from the audited financial statements is published in caldera's annual report. The organization's conflict of interest policies and governing documents are also available upon request.

PLANNING BEGAN IN APRIL FOR A VIRTUAL SUMMER CAMP IN LIEU OF OUR TRADITIONAL OVERNIGHT CAMP.THE ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM'S MARCH SESSION WAS CUT SHORT BY SEVERAL DAYS TO ALLOW ARTISTS TO TRAVEL HOME SAFELY BEFORE QUARANTINE.
