“OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: 21st Century Workforce: Valley Vision has adopted a systems approach to understanding the complex needs of the workforce ecosystem. We promote the development of regional talent by collaborating with educators, employers and a diverse array of workforce development partners. We coordinate and align regional goals that are built upon real-time data and meaningful feedback from those involved. And we recognize that an inclusive growth strategy - one in which economic prosperity is available to all - is the best path forward for our region. Recently we've advanced our understanding of how automation and the future of work will impact our region, advanced our understanding of digital skills needs in the region, as well as conducting a Food & Ag Cluster AgTech Workforce Assessment. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Clean Economy: Valley Vision is working to address our environmental challenges at a systems level, in a manner compatible with improving public health and ensuring economic prosperity for all. Climate change is a global problem tied to local policies and actions. Through our management of the Cleaner Air Partnership and more, we are helping the Sacramento region achieve emissions reductions and improve health outcomes to protect lives and support a thriving economy. In 2020, Valley Vision served on the Mayor's Climate Commission and approved a set of recommendations to Achieve Carbon Zero in Sacramento and West Sacramento by 2045. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Innovation and Infrastructure: Access to housing and digital infrastructure is as important today as roads or electricity. Broadband is critical infrastructure for commerce, access to education, and healthcare. We work with cities, community groups, businesses, policymakers and others to close the Digital Divide and promote equal access to technology. In the past year, we've created broadband research assets to improve coverage in rural areas, explore necessary speeds for telework, identify gaps in regional broadband coverage, catalyzed broadband infrastructure investment, and created a broadband report card for our region.”
