The establishment and integration of the smp clinics into a broader health care system operated through the members is intended to improve the availability, effectiveness, efficiency and quality of care provided to individuals residing in the communities served by the members.”

Smp contracts with medical groups to provide outpatient care at smp clinics, each of which is organized into a named clinical operating division within smp.
