THESE FUNDS ARE RAISED PRIMARILY FROM PUBLIC SUPPORT AND ARE USED TO BENEFIT ORGANIZED HEALTH CARE THROUGH SUPPORT OF THE WALLOWA COUNTY HEALTHCARE DISTRICT (THE "DISTRICT"). THE DISTRICT IS THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE WALLOWA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND WALLOWA VALLEY SENIOR LIVING CENTER. ALTHOUGH THE BOARD OF THE DISTRICT DIFFERS FROM THE HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION BOARD, THE ACTIVITIES ARE DIRECTLY LINKED AS THE SUPPORT RAISED BY THE HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION PROVIDES A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF THE DISTRICTS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT AND EQUIPMENT FUNDING. THE BOARDS WORK IN CONJUNCTION TO DETERMINE FUNDRAISING PROJECTS AND GOALS. AS A RESULT, THE HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION IS DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY THE MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL OF THE DISTRICT. |
