IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc0(1) THE MISSION OF THE COMMUNITY RE-HOUSING PROGRAM (CRHP) IS TO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS IN EXITING HOMELESSNESS AND ACHIEVING SUSTAINED INDEPENDENCE.THESE SERVICES ARE A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WHATCOM HOMELESS SERVICE CENTER AND THE WHATCOM COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT TARGETING THE MOST VULNERABLE ADULTS ON THE HOUSING POOL WAIT LIST, PROVIDING A MIX OF RAPID RE-HOUSING AND PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PLACEMENTS. ON AVERAGE, CRHP SERVES 35 INDIVIDUALS AND COUPLES WITHOUT CHILDREN ANNUALLY WHO PRIOR TO RECEIVING HOUSING WERE LIVING OUTSIDE, IN PLACES NOT MEANT FOR HABITATION, OR IN EMERGENCY SHELTER, MOST OF WHICH WERE CHRONICALLY HOMELESS UPON PROGRAM ENTRY.(2) THE PARENT SUPPORT PROGRAM (PSP) PROVIDES INTENSIVE AND FLEXIBLE HOME VISITING SERVICES FOCUSED ON EQUIPPING PARENTS WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND RESOURCES THEY NEED TO PARENT THEIR CHILDREN INTO SUCCESSFUL ADULTS. THE FEATURE SERVICES OF THE PSP IS PARENTS AS TEACHERS (PAT), A NATION-WIDE, EVIDENCE-BASED SERVICE WITH 30 YEARS OF RESEARCH PROVING ITS SUCCESS. CERTIFIED PARENT EDUCATORS VISIT OUR FAMILIES IN THE COMFORT OF THEIR HOMES A MINIMUM OF TWICE MONTHLY TO SUPPORT PARENTS IN DEVELOPING THE SKILLS AND CONFIDENCE NEEDED TO RAISE HEALTHY, HAPPY LITTLE ONES.(3) THE MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM PROVIDES FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL IN-HOME MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING, THERAPY GROUPS, AND CRISIS INTERVENTION TO THE ORGANIZATION'S CLIENTS.
