Organization Mission and Significant Activities:A.Not In Our Town (NIOT) is a movement to stop hate, racism and bullying, and build safe, inclusive communities. NIOTs goal is to foster thriving, diverse, and equitable communities where all residents feel safe, accepted, and encouraged to participate in public life. Our programs comprised of grassroots film screenings, town hall meetings, coalition building, creation and distribution of organizing tools, fostering collaboration across key institutions, and evaluating impactinspire and sustain broad and diverse community-based movements. As a result, NIOT currently serves a national network of over 200communities that are standing against hate and inequality and working to bridge differences to advance belonging. Description of Program: Film Media Production. NIOT completed and presented for broadcast the film Repairing the World: Stories From the Tree of Life The film was broadcast over 800 times in over 90% of public television markets in the U.S. Repairing the World: Stories from the Tree of Life chronicles the courageous response of the Pittsburgh community in the aftermath of the deadliest antisemitic attack in U.S. history at the Tree of Life synagogue in 2018. The film follows the families of the victims, Pittsburgh residents, and civic leaders as they examine their vulnerabilities and the impact of anti-Semitism, racism, hate speech, and gun violence. Film Outreach and Community Engagement Storytelling and media are central to NIOTs mission, not only to build awareness about the dangers of bigotry and bias, but more vitally, to provide communities with inspiring models for action and the possibility for change. These films are then used to build awareness and spark positive change, providing living examples of how communities can stand up to hate. Repairing the World Campaign NIOT conducted an outreach campaign to host screenings and community discussions of the film Repairing the World. In addition, NIOT created a new website and online learning portal for the film: Repairingtheworldfilm.org NIOT has built vital outreach partnerships for our films with national organizations including: Facing History and Ourselves; Interfaith Alliance; Japanese American Citizens League; Jewish Community Relations Councils; Leadership Conference for Civil and Human Rights, Stop AAPI Hate, Anti-Defamation League; United Methodist Women; Other important partners include Department of Justice Community Relations Service, COPS Office and USAOs NIOT.org offers over 100 free films and action guides for anyone seeking advice about how to stop hate and bullying. Specialized resource centers were created for educators and law enforcement groups at Notinourschool.org and NIOT.org/cops. Community Engagement - Not In Our Town takes an inherently collaborative approach to civic action, grounded in the belief that when different sectors of a community unite around their core values, they can create a powerful response to hate-fueled bigotry and create a safer, more inclusive atmosphere for everyone.United Against Hate Week - In partnership with city, civic, school leaders, and elected officials, NIOT helped expand the fifth annual week of action, held in November. NIOT first developed the United Against Hate Week campaign in collaboration with city and elected leaders in the Bay Area in 2018. Our partnerships with cities are most prominently exhibited by United Against Hate Week, a devoted week of action connecting local government, schools, and residents; and by LAvsHate, the Los Angeles County-led initiative to improve hate crime reporting. UAHW virtual events featured public forums and discussions focused on addressing and preventing hate crimes. In 2023, more than 150 cities, schools and community groups participated in the UAHW across the nation. NIOT film screenings at schools and town halls with facilitated conversations and new short films spotlighting community activists were held in Novembers

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt6Organization Mission and Significant Activities:A.Not In Our Town (NIOT) is a movement to stop hate, racism and bullying, and build safe, inclusive communities.
