Promoting long term environmental health through sound and sustainable horticultural practices. The purpose of this non-profit Foundation are solely educational and charitable to enhance and supplement the effort of the WSU Master Gardener Program and thereby provide education and information to the citizens of Kitsap County state of Washington

Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Hosted annual plant sale which is our primary fundraising activity. Current year proceeds are used to support the following year foundation expenses. These funds are used to support the WSU Program as well as demonstration gardens. The WSU program supports 200+ volunteer gardeners that provide education and time in the Kitsap County community. It also supports 4 demonstration gardens within the county. The demonstration gardens donated 5300+ pounds of food to local food banks.$0$14,361
WSU Program is supported by the foundation provides certification and training to over 200 community volunteers certified Master Gardeners Emeritus Master Gardeners and new Master Gardener Interns and cover the cost to provide and maintain 4 demonstration gardens. The foundation pays for the rent for the WSU Extension office as well as covers operations expense to support currently certified and intern Master Gardeners who contributed 17000+ hours of volunteer time to the community by hosting plant answer clinics farmers markets various special events STEM water conservations etc.$0$7,503
The foundation also provided community education through monthly seminars open to the public 6 months of the year January through June typically. Foundation funds pay for speakers any seminar costs to support the administration of the organization in order to fulfill its mission. Approximately 30 to 40 people attend these seminars including members of the public.$0$950
