Laurel housing associates follows sound's (a related tax exempt organization) conflict of interest, whistleblower and document retention policies. The board of directors is covered by the policy. Prospective board members are questioned on any existing and/or potential conflict of interest issues during the board member recruitment process. The board has a practice that it is the responsibility of all board members to continually monitor and disclose any new or potential conflict of interest concerns on an ongoing basis. When a conflict of interest occurs, the board determines if there is a conflict of interest, reviews it, and determines if the member(s) involved should be excluded from the particular conversation or vote.
