Mission

To ease and end the crisis of homelessness in our community, berkeley food and housing project provides emergency food and shelter, transitional housing, permanent housing, and housing placement with support services to homeless individuals and families.

All new employees and board members sign the conflict of interest policy. Thereafter, each individual monitors their own status, reporting any potential conflicts and/or changes in status to management, upon which appropriate action is taken to remove the conflict. To ease and end the crisis of homelessness in our community, berkeley food and housing project provides emergency food and shelter, transitional housing, permanent housing, and housing placement with support services to homeless individuals and families.

On may 28, 2020, bfhp contracted with the city of berkeley to manage emergency non-congregate shelter sites for people experiencing homelessness in response to covid-19. The respite sites provided services for up to 32 clients across several sites in order to slow and stop the spread of covid-19 throughout the entire population.

Starting in the spring of 2020 bfhp expanded service delivery at our dwight shelter to twenty-four (24) hours per day and seven (7) days per week during covid 19 response period. Bfhp provided three meals per day to shelter clients.

ANNEX RESIDENTS LIVE SEMI-INDEPENDENTLY AND ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THEIR HOME AND CLEANING. THEY CONTINUE TO WORK WITH STAFF ON DEVELOPING AND MAINTAINING INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS.
