Activity 2

Increasing access to arts and creativity: silicon valley creates founded and stewards the children's creativity collaborative (c3), an initiative focused on childrens engagement in the arts, exposure to the arts and the exhibition of childrens creations. Current programs include artspark, an arts sampler for third through sixth graders, an afterschool digital arts program for teens called the studio, a drumming program called buddaboom for elementary children from low-income families, the creation of a school of arts and culture at mhp on the eastside of san jose, and artsedconnect, a website connecting teachers and families to creative experiences for their children.silicon valley creates also: 1) connects consumers to arts and culture through artsopolis, a technology platform and calendaring system in 45 communities throughout the nation, including its local version called livesv; and 2) fosters access to the arts for high tech workers in silicon valley corporations through a customized program called cultural concierge.around 5.4 million people were served.

Activity 3

Fostering innovation in the arts: silicon valley creates provides seed funds and incubates innovative ideas, partnerships, models and art forms through the grant process, stewardship of an initiative called the creative center for the arts, an exploration of shared arts space and services, and the "calling for ideas" at the biennial big ideas forum, a venture like model to spur investment in creative solutions to our communitys needs, using arts as a strategy for community building and place making.
