Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 1, Part III, Line 1A

The society's museum collection is made up of artifacts of historical significance and art objects that are held for educational, research, scientific, and curatorial purposes. Each of the items is cataloged, preserved, and cared for, and activities verifying their existence and assessing their condition are performed continuously. The collection is subject to a policy that requires sales proceeds to be used to acquire other items for the collection. During the year ended december 31, 2013, the society acquired museum artifacts of which included a park west ski patch, a treasure mountain ski patch, stein erikson ski googles, and a mountain of treasure book totalling 70.89.

Schedule D, Page 2, Part III, Line 4

The society acquires and preserves a collection of artifacts, many of which are displayed in the museum, which is open to the public. A collection of documents and photographs is maintained and is available for historical research. Tours of other historic sites and buildings are regularly conducted. The society assists with research and evaluations of local sites and buildings to determine their historical signifigance and need for preservation and restoration.
