The plan reinforces the Associations focus on the founding pillars of professional education, advocacy and collaboration. Completed installation of a new website and added robust membership management software which allows for staff and members to be more engaged in website content AAEDs Economic Development Academy of Arizona held five classes this year with a total of 275 in attendance. The Academy graduated its second class bestowing the designation of AZED PRO on two qualifying candidates, thus raising the number of AZED Pros to seven. AAED conducted for the 3rd year the AZ Basic Economic Development Course with 39 attendees (formerly taught and administered by the U of A)Continued a partnership with IEDC to bring CEcD classes to Arizona which includes revenue sharing with AAED. Achieved certification from IEDC for AAEDs annual conference and all Academy courses which designates CEcD recertification points for our members attendance. Advocacy efforts and accomplishments included: -Creating and distributing AAEDs legislative agenda to state elected officials; -Directing the Associations lobbying efforts at the capitol; -Having a private ceremony with Governor Brewer to acknowledge her Economic Development accomplishments; -Holding a Legislative Luncheon with 115 House & Senate members attending;Annual Sponsorships were 12% over goal exceeding budget by $11,980Planned and produced the Spring Conference in Prescott for 167 attendeesContinued a partnership with the International Council of Shopping Centers which led to a half day symposium in April 2015. Attendance at this symposium was 164.Entered into a partnership with Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) to provide financial training in Arizona to AAED members at a reduced rate & to allow participation in development of course offerings. Continued a partnership with AZ/RE Magazine to create a separate AAED insert November/December 2014 and the second year as a Media Sponsor for the EDDE Awards May 2015 publication date of May 8, 2015Partnered with the Arizona Town Hall. AAED provided technical system in the preparation for the Town Hall topic of Economic Development in November 2014 Partnered with the Arizona Commerce Authority to produce the Governors Statewide Economic Development Conference held at the 150 in Phoenix in October 2014Planned and conducted 12 monthly luncheons in Phoenix with two having a morning symposium/forum (luncheons averaged 130 attendees) -AAED hosted a Workforce Symposium on January 6, entitled Keeping Arizona In The Game (164 attended) -Half-day retail symposium on April 7 in partnership with the International Council of Shopping Centers entitled: Retail 2015: Renew, Refill and Repurpose? (164 attended)Planned and conducted 6 luncheons in Southern Arizona (luncheons averaged 50 attendees)Planned and conducted 3 Phoenix after hours mixersPlanned and conducted 3 Northern Arizona activities: -Northern Arizona Economic Development Regional Symposium on October 17 (67 attended) -North/East Arizona Mayoral Economic Development Update on April 16 (46 attended) -Northern Arizona Mayoral Economic Development Update on June 2015 (61 attending)Phased out the AAED Update newsletter and created an electronic newsletter called The Voice. The first issue was released February 2015. -Made site visits to Navajo and Ft. McDowell tribes to strengthen economic development partnerships -Planned and conducted an annual AAED golf classic Golf-N-Ghouls held October 30, 2014.
