Fear of Flying Clinic

“Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic the operations of Fear of Flying Clinic have been very different in 2020. People are not flying as much and as such they are not signing up for our programs. Most prefer to attend our programs in person. Even with that, we have been hosting Zoom workshops to help keep our Non-Profit serving our community as much as possible. In 2020 the Fear of Flying Clinic conducted three (1) 4-day Clinic and two (2) 2-day Virtual Zoom Workshops. Total enrollment for all was 25. For both the Clinic and the Workshops, evaluations reveal that 95% of enrollees say attending one of our programs helped them to address and overcome their fears about flying. Enrollees get to learn about airline procedures and aviation safety directly from industry professionals who donate their time to speak to our groups. Together, with this knowledge, our professional therapists teach techniques about Cognitive Behavior Therapy, to help enrollees change how they think about flying and gain confidence to fly with more ease. Together, the Clinics and the Workshops are the core of what the Fear of Flying Clinic offers as a non-profit, and how we achieve our mission. We provide as many scholarships for financially disadvantaged people as we can. The mission of the Fear of Flying Clinic is to help people address and overcome their fears about flying. We do this by informing our course participants of all aspects of aviation flight, with the goal of replacing their fears with solid facts. We also use the method of cognitive behavior therapy to help people replace their negative or scary thoughts about flying with facts, education and support, with the goal that if they think less scary thoughts, they will feel less fearful, and more confident in flight.”
